The e-Oftalmo journal was created 7 years ago, under the management of Professor Milton Ruiz Alves and Professor Carlos Moreira Jr as lead editor. This digital journal will use all media types (audio and video), offering easy access to all Brazilians, entirely published in Portuguese and English. With the help of the associate editors Harley do Amaral Bicas, Milton Ruiz Alves, Keila Monteiro de Carvalho and Fernanda Belga Ottoni Porto. It is important to highlight that the publication of this journal would not be possible without the support of The Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (Conselho Brasileiro de Oftalmologia-CBO), and the excessive contribution of the secretaries, initially Mrs. Gelse Monteiro, and in recent years, Mrs. Claudia Moral.

On 12/16/21, Prof. Moreira announced his resignation, and a succession process was initiated to renew the Editorial Board of e-Oftalmo.

I would like to express my gratitude to Prof. Moreira and his team, associate editors who have been tireless all these years, and especially the reviewers who have worked together to raise the quality of our publications.

The transition was smooth and we faced several relevant challenges to overcome before achieving our goals. CBO confirms its interest in continuing education and scientific dissemination and renews its support for e-Oftalmo.

This is the first edition of e-Oftalmo to be published in 2022. The new editorial board is being structured and we invite you to offer constructive criticism and contributions.

On behalf of the new editorial board, we would like to thank all those who contributed, wish you success in all your efforts, and invite you to submit your manuscripts to e-Oftalmo.
